How is endodontics done?
The endodontic method is applied in several sessions depending on the damage to the tooth. In the endodontic method, delaying the sessions and neglecting the treatment after the first session can cause tooth loss. First, a hole is made in the back of the anterior tooth or in the crown of the molars or premolars. After the diseased area is removed (pulpectomy), the pulp cavity and root canals are cleaned, enlarged and shaped for canal filling. If there is more than one session, temporary filling is performed on the problematic part. At first, there will be pain in endodontics. You can use painkillers recommended by your doctor for these pains. The temporary filling is then removed and the pulp cavity and canal are permanently filled. Conical tip called Gutta percha (Gutta Percha), A rubber material is inserted into each of the channels and is usually held in place with cement (adhesive). Sometimes a metal or plastic rod can be placed inside the channel for structural support.
In the last step, a crown is placed on the tooth to restore its natural appearance and shape. If the tooth is broken, post application may be necessary to repair the tooth before placing the crown.
How long can teeth be used after endodontics?
After the endodontic method, if the teeth are well looked after, they can be used for a lifetime. However, if dental care is not performed adequately and the filling falls out, it is necessary to consult a doctor before it is too late for root canal treatment. Otherwise, tooth loss will occur.
