It is the process of restoring the white color of our teeth, which they lost over time due to different reasons. For this process, first of all, dental plaques that are located on our tooth enamel, which form the outer layer of our teeth, and make our teeth appear darker, are cleaned. Then, bleaching agents with acidic content are applied on our teeth, and the color of our teeth is whitened by breaking down the chromophore molecules located in the pores in the enamel and dentin layer of our teeth. Types of bleaching applied in our polyclinic. ;

A special light source is kept on the teeth for a certain period of time.
The result can be seen immediately after the procedure.
After the necessary cleaning is done, the process is completed. While the bleaching method, which is very effective, usually gives results in a single session, the number of sessions may increase depending on the degree of discoloration.

Teeth whitening continues for 5-7 days, depending on the degree of tooth discoloration.
3. SINGLE TEETH WHITENING (INTERNAL BLEACHING): It is a teeth whitening technique applied in tooth discoloration seen years later in teeth that have undergone root canal treatment. At the beginning of the procedure, the filling applied to the tooth is removed. The whitening material is applied to the opened space and the tooth is covered with a temporary filling. After a few days, when the tooth reaches the desired whiteness, the whitening agent is cleaned and the tooth is restored with a permanent aesthetic filling.
Hot-cold tooth sensitivities that may develop during the teeth whitening process are eliminated with fluoride applications to the teeth.
Is the effect of teeth whitening permanent?
After bleaching, the color starts to fade over time. This period varies according to the patient's use of colored liquids (tea, coffee, wine, cola, etc.) and smoking. It takes between 6 months and 1 year. If it is supported with 1 or 2 sessions in 4-6 months, teeth whitening is made permanent.
Considerations After Bleaching
Your eating, drinking and oral hygiene habits can affect how long tooth bleaching results last. After completing any bleaching treatment, your teeth are susceptible to staining from beverages such as tea, coffee, and certain foods. Rinsing your mouth or brushing your teeth immediately after eating or drinking can prevent such discoloration agents from settling on the surface of your teeth and reduce the chance of plaque formation.
